Six people were hurt when a wayward truck jumped into the opposite lane of EDSA in Quezon City at dawn yesterday and collided with an ice truck before ramming a dump truck.
An R and R Gutierrez delivery truck being driven by Ariel Antig was cruising along EDSA near Philam Homes at around 1 a.m. when the vehicle suddenly went out of control and entered the southbound lane.
Antig and his truck helper including three other persons from the ice truck were rushed to the Quezon City Medical Center.
It took a rescue team from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to extricate the driver of the JD dump truck, where he was pinned in his seat.
Traffic investigators said the driver of the wayward truck might have fallen asleep causing his vehicle to jump from the north to the southbound lane. Perseus Echeminada
