Indian trader found dead inside car

-
The body of an Indian national with two gunshot wounds was discovered inside an abandoned car in Sta. Ana, Manila early yesterday morning.

Police identified the victim through a relative as Harminder Singh, 28, married, a businessman, of Bacood, Sta. Mesa, Manila.

SPO2 William Gondranios said the body sustained two gunshot wounds in the chest and was in the early stage of decomposition.

The victim was discovered in a sitting position beside the driver’s seat inside a gray Honda Civic with license (WSP-300). The vehicle was covered with a blue nylon sheet.

Except for the gunshot wounds, no other signs of injury were found on the victim. Singh was dressed in black denim pants and a white polo shirt and wearing sandals.

The victim’s sister told police her brother could have been carrying a large amount of money at the time of his death since he was engaged in a lending business.

Gondranios said no money was recovered from the victim or the car.

Residents told police they had observed the car parked at the corner of New Panaderos and Azuzena streets in Sta. Ana for three days. When foul odor started to emanate from the car, concerned residents called the police.

Police are now tracing the owner of the car. The body has been subjected to an autopsy.

Investigators are now looking at several angles, including kidnapping, as the possible motive for the slaying.

Meanwhile, a 38-year-old jobless man ended his life by jumping from the second floor of his home in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Danilo Abayan, of Old Sta. Mesa, was declared dead on arrival at the UERM Hospital due to a fractured skull.

Police said Abayan first quarreled with his wife before jumping and landing head first on the pavement of their two-story residence.

Except for telling police that the couple frequently quarreled due to the victim’s constant jealousy, relatives signed a waiver calling off further investigation on the death of the victim. – Nestor Etolle
