Several shots were heard by local residents late Sunday night after two men decided to settle an old grudge by the gun, killing one even as the other was taken to the hospital seriously wounded, authorities reported yesterday.
Dead on arrival at the Dr. Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital (formerly Tala Leprosarium) due to two gunshot wounds in the body was Rogelio Moral, 45, of Phase 5, Block 15, Lot 28, Bagong Silang.
Taken for treatment at the Far Eastern University (FEU) Hospital was Godofredo Gamboa, 67, employee of the Department of Public Safety and Traffic Management (DPSTM) and resident of Tala, Barangay 187, Caloocan City.
PO2 Noel Gregorio said the shooting took place at around 9:30 p.m. along Uyguangco street in Barangay 186, where the two bumped into each other.
Police said their differences must have been so serious that when each saw the other, both drew their weapons without so much as a word or any provocation.
Recovered at the crime scene were a homemade caliber .38 revolver and five spent shells and a caliber .45 pistol and two spent cartridges. Jerry Botial
