Traffic enforcers deployed for rallies, Flores de Mayo

-
The Manila Traffic Division (MTD) would be deploying more than 200 of its traffic personnel and an augmentation team from the Philippine National Police (PNP) for the possible traffic mayhem resulting from the Labor Day rallies as well as the annual celebration of Flores de Mayo today.

Jovy Escat, of the MTD operations unit, said more than 200 of their personnel would ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

The PNP, from its National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and the Western Police District (WPD), would also send augmentation teams to help maintain peace and order in the city. They have been on red alert since yesterday morning.

Militant and labor groups are expected to gather at three sites — the Mabuhay Rotonda, Liwasang Bonifacio and Mendiola.

Law enforcers would also be stationed outside the US Embassy along Roxas Boulevard. — Evelyn Macairan
