Caloocan rep supports NPD projects

- Pete Laude -
The Northern Police District (NPD) is set to receive a P1-million support fund for its development project from Caloocan City Rep. Luis "Baby" Asistio.

Cenon Mayor, president of Kalookan City Assistance Council, Inc. (KACI), the implementing arm of Asistio’s projects, said the congressman is now facilitating the fund’s release.

"Congressman Asistio made the commitment of his share to the NPD development projects during the courtesy call of district director (Senior Superintendent Raul) Gonzales last week," Mayor said.

According to Mayor, Asistio is also negotiating with the other congressmen in the northern metropolis to extend financial assistance to the NPD to boost the morale of the police force.

Upgrading of roads in the immediate vicinity of the NPD building, especially the flood-prone Tanigue st. is now being scheduled.

Mayor said Asistio is constantly coordinating with the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) Road Board for the completion of the upgrade of three major roads in Dagat-Dagatan.

"The allocation for the improvement of C-3 Road, Dagat-Dagatan Avenue and Letre Road, the three major thoroughfares that interconnect NPDO, would be derived from the Road Users’ Tax," Mayor said.

As part of Asistio’s Serbisyong Pang-habangbuhay project, Mayor said skills training for livelihood and entrepreneurship in Dagat-Dagatan, particularly in depressed areas, are still ongoing through Asistio’s Priority Development Assistance Program (PDAP).
