5 Lanot ‘informants’ fail lie detector tests

-
The five informants in the murder of former Pasig City Rep. Henry Lanot have failed polygraph tests, leaving police back to square one in their investigation.

The informants, who admitted they are after P200,000 reward offered by Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Arturo Lomibao and the Pasig City government, were subjected to lie detector tests to determine the credibility of the information they were offering.

"The informants failed their polygraph tests so we are back to square one," a member of the Task Force Lanot told The Star.

This developed as Lanot’s ally, former Pasig Councilor Sonny Rivera claimed they received information that there have been unseen hands orchestrating the muddling of the murder case.

"There are now several people claiming that the killing was because of a business rivalry or motivated by a love-triangle. Obviously, there has been a concerted effort to divert the investigation," Rivera said.

Earlier, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Reynaldo Wycoco declared as "unfit" a witness who is under their custody.

Lanot’s eldest son, Ken strongly believes that his father’s murder involved politics. "Any other angle they offer aside from the political angle is a diversion," the younger Lanot claimed.

Rivera said they would formally launch the "Justice for Lanot, Justice for Pasigueños Movement," which would be attended by the family and close political allies and other opposition leaders next week.
