Quezon City is making an attempt to break the world record for longest bunting line made by England by hanging some 30,000 multi-colored buntings attached to nylon rope measuring 25,000 feet, the Public Affairs and Information Office (PAISO) announced yesterday.
PAISO said the world record bid would be made tomorrow during the launching of the "Fiesta Pasiklab" a joint undertaking of the city government and Funfare Ventures Inc.
The record stands at 13,000 feet.
The Guinness Book of World Records bid involves multi-colored buntings that stretch from Commonwealth Avenue to Welcome Rotonda. A representative from the London-based Guinness Book of World Records is expected to arrive to document the event.
The attempt to break the record is one of several activities lined up by Funfare Ventures in a bid to make Quezon City the fiesta capital of the Philippines.
Other highlights of the Pasiklab includes a grand Flores de Mayo for senior citizens, Santa Cruzan for the barangays, food and trade fair, barangay summer barkadahan, and palarong pambayan. Perseus Echeminada
