Pa kills 2 daughters after losing job
April 4, 2005 | 12:00am
Laid off from his job, a construction worker became mentally unstable and killed his two daughters early yesterday morning in Malabon City.
Superintendent Moises Guevarra, the city police chief, identified the suspect as Ruben Temprosa, 48, a native of Bacolod City, and a resident of Palmario Pilapil st., Barangay Tonsuya, Malabon.
The suspect is now locked up at the police detention cell for stabbing to death his daughters, Rubelyn, 4, and Rosemarie, 3, inside their house at around 6:30 a.m.
Guevarra said Temprosa was laid off from his work three days ago and has been observed to be in a pensive mood since then.
Yesterday morning, the suspects wife Vilma, 32, said her husband suddenly grabbed her two daughters and stabbed them using a chisel.
Failing to stop the carnage, Vilma ran outside their house carrying their two other daughters, aged six and seven.
Vilma sought the help of barangay watchmen who immediately arrested her husband.
Neighbors rushed the victims to the Pagamutang Bayan ng Malabon but were declared dead on arrival.
Interviewed in his cell, Temprosa said he was laid off from his job after a neighbor, he identified only as Mang Romy, told his fellow workers that he is a member of an insurgent group.
" I was enraged because its not true," he told The STAR in his native dialect.
But despite the suspects unstable mental condition, Guevarra said they would still file two counts of paricide charges against him.
"It would be up to the court to decide on this case," Guevarra said. Pete Laude
