2 killed, 3 hurt in QC road mishap

Two were killed while three others were hurt in separate road accidents in Quezon City over the weekend.
The Central District Traffic Sector 5 identified the fatalities as Wilfredo Chua, of Sampaloc, Manila; and Milagros Lolong, of Barangay Old Balara, Quezon City.
Those hurt, meanwhile, were identified as Jeenilyn Alba, of Manggahan; Ronaldo Esmale, of Feria Road; and Jeanalyn Tomaneng, of Makati City.
According to the investigation of PO3 Edgardo Talacay, Chua was aboard his scooter, with license plate PP-4624 and traversing Commonwealth Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday when he lost balance and skidded on a portion of the road that is under repair in Barangay Holy Spirit. He was thown onto the pavement and died on the spot.
On Saturday afternoon, Lolong and three other victims figured in a road accident involving a speeding owner-type jeep, with license plate PJN-470.
Talacay said Lolong, Alba, Esmale, and Tomaneng were crossing Feria Road around 2:30 p.m. when the vehicle sideswiped them.
Lolong died instantly while the three other victims were taken to the Malvar General Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the owner-type jeep who was only identified as Victor, of Tandang Sora, surrendered to authorities.
