Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar led the launching of "I Love Las Piñas" as the battlecry of the citys tourism program in support of the Department of Tourisms (DOT) promotional campaign to boost tourist and investor interest in the country.
The program aims to showcase the citys cultural heritage and is envisioned to attract both local and foreign tourists to Las Piñas, which has transformed from a salt-bed municipality to one of the most highly urbanized and multi-awarded metropolitan cities in the country.
Las Piñas is an active partner of the tourism industry, having participated in various DOT activities showing the countrys best destinations, products and services.
The city is a proud host of the world-renowned Bamboo Organ and its Historical Corridor along the stretch of Zapote Bridge toward Padre Diego Cerra Avenue.
"We are honored to be chosen as one of the leading local government units this year in promoting the Best of the Regions showcase for the NCR and we pledge to live up to that expectation," Aguilar said.
The DOT-NCR will be launching its Tourist Trail in Metro Manila soon that will consolidate as tourist destination the entire metropolitan cities and towns as part of the Metropolitan Manila Best of the Regions 2005 with theme "Ginintuang Pamana" these summer months.
