Caloocan’s teen gang strikes anew

- Pete Laude -
A teenagers gang in Caloocan City, tagged by residents as responsible for a series of troubles in their neighborhood, struck anew on Saturday, shooting a teenager while walking home.

Members of the Brown Side Trese or BST Gang, reportedly headed by a certain Chris Navarro, alias Maloy, a resident of Barangay 59, 8th Avenue, Caloocan, are now being sought by the police.

Police said the victim, Johnny Lagdan, 19, a resident of 92 10th Avenue also in Caloocan, was walking home along Galaran st. corner Candido st. in Barangay 59, when he met the BST Gang at around 2:30 a.m.

Several members of the gang, five of whom were identified only as Bernard, Boyet, Richard, Aye and Ambo, blocked the victim’s path. And when he tried to flee, one of the suspects reportedly pulled out a handgun and shot him in the face.

The suspects escaped after the incident while concerned individuals rushed the victim to the Manila Central University (MCU) Hospital for treatment.

In Camarin, Caloocan City North, the Bulabog Boys, another group of youngsters reportedly lead by an ex-convict, is engaged in highway robberies in cahoots with jeepney drivers.

The teeners reportedly divest passengers of their valuables and make passes at women they fancy.
