NBI seizes fake surgical products

-
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) seized some P.5 million worth of fake medical products during a series of raids of medical stores in Sta. Cruz, Manila this week.

Raided were the M.V. Medical Instruments, Metropolis Medical Supplies, Tayuman Medical Supply, JPR Orthodox Medical Supply, R. Medina Enterprises, and R. Medina Surgical Enterprises.

Raiders from the NBI-Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) headed by lawyer Rogelio Mamauag failed to arrest the owner of the stores identified as a certain Rodolfo Medina.

Medina will be charged with violation of the trademark and infringement law and illegal sale of drugs without license before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.

NBI Director Reynaldo Wycoco said the raids was carried out last Tuesday by virtue of a search warrant issued by Manila Judge Artemio Tipon of the Regional Trial Court Branch 46. Cecille Suerte Felipe
