-
A 27-year-old woman was injured as some 80 houses were razed by fire that hit a densely populated squatters’ area in Quezon City yesterday afternoon.

Fire Officer 3 Elmer Olivas, of the Central District Fire Department, identified the injured resident as Rudelyn De Mesa. She suffered a laceration in the foot while trying to run away from a burning house.

Initial reports reaching the Central District Fire Department on Agham Road disclosed that the fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. yesterday at a squatters’ colony located along Congressional Avenue Extension, Sitio Bacood, Barangay Pasong Tamo.

Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the blaze, which reached Task Force Echo.

Firemen were still putting out the blaze as of press time. Katherine Adraneda
