Police anti-narcotics agents arrested a couple tagged as big-time drug dealers and seized a kilo of shabu during a sting operation at a parking lot of a Pasay City apartelle last Thursday night.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Deputy Director General Edgar Aglipay said the arrest of Cairoden Nanak; 34 and his wife Monina, 31, dealt a major blow to the syndicates drug operations in the National Capital Region.
Aglipay presented the couple along with the seized drugs at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) in Camp Crame yesterday.
Natives of Mindanao and residents of Quiapo, Manila, the Nanaks also yielded a caliber .45 pistol when AIDSOTF agents arrested them at the parking lot of the Copacobana Apartelle along EDSA in Pasay City at about 10 p.m. last Thursday.
Also recovered from the couple were assorted identification cards and boodle money used in the operation.
Superintendent Eduardo Aceirto, who headed the sting, said the husband was handing over a kilo of shabu to a police undercover agent when arrested.
Aglipay commended the AIDSOTF agents as he warned drug dealers that they will face the full force the law.
"Magsilbi sana itong babala sa lahat ng mga drug pushers, dahil kami ay hindi titigil," said Aglipay.
Aglipay said the wife was temporarily released for further investigation after it was established that it was only her husband that negotiated for and personally handed the illegal drugs to a police officer. Jaime Laude
