Two die in separate shooting incidents

Two men were killed by unidentified men in separate shooting incidents in Quezon City over the weekend.

Victim Alvin Bacani, 33, a tricycle driver and resident of 1375 Kalapati St., Unit-5, Bgy. Commonwealth, was attacked by a lone gunman at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday while waiting for passengers in front of the Riverside Market along Commonwealth Avenue.

Reports reaching the Central Police District-Criminal Investigation Unit (CPD-CIU) disclosed that Bacani was aboard his tricycle when the suspect suddenly appeared from behind and immediately shot him several times in the body.

Bacani, who sustainedmultiple gunshot wounds was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival. The unidentified suspect fled on foot after the incident.

CPD-CIU detectives are conducting further investigation to determine the exact motive behind Bacani’s slay.

Meanwhile, a certain Wilson Valdez was found dead Saturday morning in Novaliches. He was wearing a brown shortpants and gray T-shirt when discovered by residents of Sarmiento St., Brgy. Sta. Monica.

Police described him as between 35 to 40 years old, about 5’6" tall, and with fair complexion.

PO1 Edwin dela Cruz, office-on-case, said the incident happened at around 9:40 a.m. along Sarmiento Street. A gunshot was heard and residents found the victim sprawled on the ground.

Cursory examination revealed that the victim sustained a gunshot wound in the chest. The victim died instantly.

Police brought the victim’s cadaver to the PNP Crime Laboratory for autopsy.
