Ex-cop tagged in QC slay

A 69-year-old retired policeman is now the subject of a manhunt by the police after he was shot dead by a neighbor in Novaliches, Quezon City late Friday.

Police said Moises Molejon fatally shot Rolando de Guzman Jr. inside his home in Villa San Agustin, Novaliches.

De Guzman died on arrival at the Bernardino Hospital from two gunshot wounds in the body.

Witnesses said Molejon, of Tawid Sapa, Barangay Kaligayan, Novaliches, reportedly figured in an argument before shooting the victim twice with his caliber .45 pistol.

The suspect reportedly shot De Guzman, 39, twice in front of the victim’s mother Pacita and elder brother Willy.

Initial investigation showed that the suspect had earlier requested De Guzman to find a buyer for his two cell phone units.

Molejon went back and inquired De Guzman about the cell phones. De Guzman reportedly answered back that his agent was unavailable, triggering the argument.

Police said an altercation ensued after De Guzman failed to produce the cellphone when Molejon asked to have it returned. – Mike Frialde
