Superintendent Sotero Ramos Jr., NPD-District Police Intelligence Unit chief, identified the suspect as Luisito Ambrocio alias Louie Marquez, 27, native of Northern Samar, and of 8-A, Los Martires street, Barangay San Jose, Navotas.
The suspect, wanted for murder, was arrested by the DPIU agents at around 8 p.m. while confined at the Tondo General Hospital due to gunshot wounds.
Ambrocio was the subject of a warrant of arrest issued by a Malabon City judge for the slaying of Expedito Vergara on Dec. 31, 2001 in San Jose Navotas. He was able to hide and elude arrest by changing his name to Louie Marquez.
At around 7 a.m., Thursday, the suspect with a companion identified only a Tute tried to steal equipment inside the Tentay Patis factory on Governor Pascual corner Los Martires street in Barangay San Jose but was caught and shot by the factorys security guard.
The guard crippled Ambrocio by shooting the suspects thighs with his shotgun. Another suspect escaped.
The DPIU gathered from an informant that Navotas No. 7 most wanted criminal was wounded and confined at the Tondo hospital.
A follow-up operation resulted in the suspects arrest.
Meanwhile, the NPD operatives are also hot on the trail of Malabon Citys most wanted criminal, Harold Padilla, subject of at least 11 warrants of arrest and Roger Calumpang, the most wanted man in Caloocan City. He is a convicted murderer.
Also being sought by the police are Raul Tobiaso, Velenzuelas most wanted, and former policeman Federico Patag, wanted for double murder and double frustrated murder, and Edgar Agustin, Navotas most wanted for double murder.
