Trader killed in ambush

A local trader was killed in an ambush by a still unidentified man early yesterday morning in Valenzuela City.
Joey Belarmino, a buy-and-sell businessman, of San Antonio Subdivision, Damong Maliit, Novaliches, Quezon City, died of multiple gunshot wounds in the back and in the head.
Police said a follow up is underway to determine the identity of the suspect who, witnesses said, escaped on board a beige getaway van whose plates were not identified.
Initial investigation showed the suspect was walking along Daang Bato, Lawang Bato at around 2 a.m. when the suspect fired several shots at him.
As the victim fell to the ground, the suspect quickly fled.
Bystanders rushed the victim to the Valenzuela General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians. The suspect nor the motive for the killing. Jerry Botial
