The victim, identified as Arthur Amistoso, Cesar Alvaran, Edcel and Editha Casugay, Alma and Marina Febrero, Rogelio Makabenta, Jenelyn Estinor and Luisita Aguirre, were rushed to the Muntinlupa City of Medical Center.
Prober PO2 Cecilio Tomas said the incident took place at around 6:45 p.m. along the southbound lane of the national road in Putatan when a passenger jeepney, with license plates PRH-830, was hit by a fast moving dump truck.
Because of the strong impact, Tomas said the jeepney was pushed to bump a Toyota Revo, which also bumped another jeepney and a Hyundai Grace van .
After hitting the jeepney, the truck also hit a Mitsubishi Lancer on another lane, which in turn bumped another Mitsubishi Lancer and a passenger jeepney.
Investigation revealed that the truck driver, identified as Geraldo Banban, did not notice the jeepney in front. Police said Banban is facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting to multiple injuries. — Edu Punay
