Road accident injures old woman

A 65-year-old woman was severely injured yesterday morning after falling off from a bus in Quezon City.
PO3 Andy Sotto, officer-on-case, identified the victim as Carolina Barretto, of 20 Doña Juana St., Gloria-V Subdivision in Novaliches, Quezon City.
According to Sotto, Barretto flagged down the Pascual Liner bus, with license plates TWK-270, being driven by Sulpicio Avenido, 40, at around 9:20 a.m. in front of the Gloria-V Subdivision when the accident happened.
Barretto was reportedly about to climb the steps when Avenido accelerated the bus, causing the old woman to trip and fall, hitting her head and body on the pavement as she fell.
Residents in the area rushed Barretto to the Quezon City General Hospital for treatment while Avenido surrendered to the authorities. Katherine Adraneda
