The Central Police District-Station 10 in Kamuning yesterday turned over a man they picked up from the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force for being an alleged member of the terror group Abu Sayyaf.
Manny Ysmael, also known as Mustafa Amil, of Barangay Immaculate Concepcion, Quezon City, was earlier arrested by patrolling members of CPD-Station 10 along Rodriguez Avenue for illegal possession of deadly weapon. The 31-year-old suspect was walking along Rodriguez Avenue at around 2 a.m. last month, when policemen approached him.
He was eventually frisked, resulting in the confiscation of a bladed weapon.
Ysmael has been detained at the police station for two weeks and has been charged in court.
However, officers at the Kamuning station were surprised yesterday when members of the PNP-SAF went to Station 10 and asked for Ysmael, who apparently had a standing warrant of arrest for kidnapping and serious illegal detention.
Police said Ysmael was taken to the Metro Manila Rehabilitation Center in Bicutan for detention. Katherine Adraneda
