Parañaque drug raids net 7 suspected dealers

In a span of 14 hours, drugbusters from the Parañaque City police arrested seven suspected drug pushers and seized P7 million worth of illegal drugs in four different operations.
Operatives of the SPD’s anti-illegal drugs special operations task force, led by Police Chief Inspector Wilfredo Calderon, first went to Baclaran at around 9:30 p.m. last Monday and arrested Francis Hernandez, 50.
Hernandez was arrested in Sitio Maligaya following a report from a tipster. Police recovered five plastic sachets containing 70 grams of shabu.
Calderon said they then proceeded to Dr. A. Santos Avenue in San Isidro, where three other suspected drug pushers were spotted.
Arrested were Allan Reyes, 36; Edwin Quitoriano, 38, both of San Isidro; and Nieves Batangoso, 23, of Las Piñas City. Police recovered five sachets containing some 150 grams of shabu.
Two other suspected pushers were spotted at a nearby gasoline station.
The operation led to the arrest of Usop Solomon, 37, and Ismael Soliman, 35, both of Quiapo, Manila.
Police said about a hundred grams of shabu contained in two plastic sachets were seized from the two, who were arrested at around 12:30 a.m. yesterday while on board a Tamaraw FX (UDX-585).
At 11:15 a.m., police went back to Baclaran following a report from an asset who spotted another suspected pusher in the area.
Arrested was Maricel Aborda, alias Ganda, 20, a housewife from Quiapo, Manila. She was caught in possession of some 50 grams of shabu.
Metro police chief Ricardo De Leon commended the local police during the presentation of the suspects at the Southern Police District Headquarters in Taguig.
Parañaque police chief Superintendent Ronald Estilles said the successful operations started from a lone asset.
"After one suspect was arrested, he would pinpoint his fellow pushers, and so on because they said they would not want to be behind bars alone," Estilles said. The suspects pointed to a single source from Malate, Manila. – Edu Punay
