QC cops solve 95% of crimes

The Central Police District (CPD) has reported that 95 percent of index and non-index crimes reported in the four districts of the city have been solved from April 15 to 29.

In a report to Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr., Police Superintendent Franklin Mabanag said out of 193 crimes reported last month, 184 were solved.

"The average monthly crime rate per 100,000 residents is 9.44 percent and crime solution efficiency is 95 percent," Mabanag said.

He noted that during the same period only one rape case was reported which was also solved.

In the same period, two out of three murder and homicide cases and 25 physical injuries cases were resolved.

Other cases that were solved by the police were 36 theft cases, 32 robberies and the apprehension of 83 drug users and pushers in various parts of the city.

The CPD also reported that six out of seven stolen vehicles in the same period were recovered. – Perseus Echeminada
