Two pedicab drivers killed in Tondo

Two pedicab drivers were killed last Saturday in two separate incidents in Sta. Cruz and Tondo in Manila.

Darius Sinto, 34, of Isla Puting Bato, was shot in the face by a still unidentified gunman along the busy Recto Avenue in Sta. Cruz. The suspect escaped on foot with his firearm.

Investigation by SPO2 Danilo Vidad of the Western Police District showed that the victim had an altercation with another pedicab driver the previous day but he could not say if the incident has something to do with the killing.

A few hours earlier, another pedicab driver, identified as Dandilo Manzanares, was stabbed to death by three men at the corner of Pitong Gatang and Masagana streets in Tondo. One of the attackers reportedly also had a fight earlier with the victim.

Manzanares was declared dead on arrival at the Mary Johnston Hospital due to multiple stab wounds. The suspects were identified as as Namding Regalado, 44; Rolando Regalado, 20; and Joey Regalado, 34. — Jose Aravilla
