April 14, 2004 | 12:00am
The Marikina City government will be providing its constituents with a guidebook on the simplified procedures and requirements in availing different services such as pet registration, applying for marriage license or business and the likes.
The so-called Marikina Citizens Factbook also contains the history and demographics of the district, contact numbers of government agencies with its mailing address for the convenience of residents and researchers, tourists and businessmen as well.
"A key element to progress is information. The public should find it easy to do business with the government," said Mayor Marides Fernando in her campaign for a better Marikina.
The guidebook will speed up government-citizen transactions by saving time in preparing the documents needed for a certain service.
Moreover, the guidebook will be handy for would-be-investors or existing businesses by illustrating the requirements and procedures in a plain and uncomplicated manner.
