TMG cops collar truck hijackers in Valenzuela, Manila

-
Three suspects involved in the hijacking of assorted Nestle products were arrested by the Philippine National Police-Traffic Management Group yesterday in Valenzuela and Manila.

TMG director Chief Superintendent Danilo Mangila said some P2.1-million worth of Nestle products inside a 20-footer container van were also recovered by policemen.

Members of the TMG’s Task Force Limbas first arrested Reynaldo Baylon and Ricardo Bacus inside a warehouse at Barangay Dalandanan along MacArthur Highway in Valenzuela during an operation at 1:15 a.m.

Mangila’s men also arrested Chen Cheng of Binondo, Manila after he was tagged by Baylon and Bacus as the alleged financier of the illegal operation.

Bacus and Baylon were spotted by alert TMG operatives after the suspects seized a 20-footer van from its driver identified as Rey Aleguer and helper Mateo Puro along Del Pan in Tondo, Manila. The driver immediately informed his supervisor about the incident.

Mangila said Alberto de Leon Sr. of ALCEJEM trucking located along Lakandula street in Tondo, Manila, reported the incident to the TMG.

The trucking company transports goods to the Nestle Philippines office in Pasig City.

The suspects are all detained pending the filing of criminal charges against them. Christina Mendez
