Teener killed in road mishap

A teenager was killed while another was seriously wounded in separate vehicular accidents in Quezon City yesterday morning.
Police identified the fatality as Kid Billy Batulan, 19, of 14 Maayusin Extension, Barangay San Vicente. He was declared dead on arrival by doctors at the East Avenue Medical Center due to severe head and body injuries.
Investigation revealed that Batulan was on on board a tricycle (PY 1286) on C.P. Garcia street around 6 a.m. last Tuesday when the Isuzu Elf truck (XFU-151) being driven by Almario Banag, 51, of Violago Homes, Tandang Sora, suddenly rammed into the tricycle, pinning Batulan.
The teener was rushed to the hospital while authorities arrested Banag, who faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Rodel Francis Ordales is now in critical condition at the Quezon City General Hospital after his car went over the center island and rolled over yesterday morning in Quezon City.
Ordales, a businessman and resident of Mindanao Avenue, was aboard his Honda Civic (ANX-888) on Mindanao Avenue around 1:30 a.m. yesterday when his car suddenly lost control and jumped into the center island. Katherine Adraneda
