Young woman found dead in van

- Katherine Adraneda -
A 19-year-old woman was found dead inside a van parked at a garage in Quezon City yesterday afternoon.

Police identified the victim as Sarah Fuentes, who is reportedly the daughter of pianist Toti Fuentes.

Fuentes reportedly died of suffocation after she locked herself inside her Toyota Revo van with license plates WEF-351.

The body was discovered at around 1:30 p.m. yesterday at the back seat of the vehicle, which was parked at the garage of her rented unit located at 38-A Scout Tuazon street, Barangay Laging Handa in Quezon City.

A certain Andy Roising reported his discovery to Barangay Captain Pepe Pimentel.

During ocular investigation, police found a hose connected to the van’s muffler into the slightly opened window. The van’s engine was left running.

Gaps in the window were sealed with tape, trapping the fumes inside the van.

Fuentes was lying on her back with a pillow under her head when recovered.

There were unconfirmed reports that Fuentes left a suicide note at the family’s house in Makati. Members of her immediate family and other relatives are abroad.

Investigators of the Central Police District Office (CPD) are still trying to determine if there was a foul play involved.
