Police are eyeing a possible love triangle in the killing of a 32-year-old former seaman in Las Piñas City yesterday morning.
The victim, identified as Dondie Labrador, had just left his house to look for a job when an unidentified man, believed to be his wifes textmate, shot him at around 7:15 a.m. inside Doña Julieta Subdivision In Pulang Lupa II, prober PO1 Teoson Rosarito said.
Police said the suspect, who was waiting inside a taxi with three other men, used a caliber .45-pistol in killing Labrador. They immediately fled on board the cab toward nearby BAA Homes.
Labrador sustained nine gunshot wounds in different parts of the body, including the left cheek, ear, chest and wrist. He was shot from a short distance, the prober said.
"Planado yung pagpatay, inabangan siya talaga ng mga suspects," Rosarito said.
Police said Labrador earlier shot and wounded a man, who was allegedly a textmate of his wife while he was working abroad.
"It was when he arrived in November last year that he learned about the alleged affair," Rosarito said, quoting the sworn statement of Labradors family.
The suspect could have possibly retaliated for the shooting incident, he added.
