Pasay mall loses rental collections to robbers

-
An accounting officer of a Pasay mall lost at least P100,000 in rental fee collections to three robbers yesterday afternoon.

Security officers of the Metropoint Mall located at the corner of EDSA and Taft Avenue, said mall cashier Dennis Grimaldo and security guard Danilo Veroza were on their way to a bank on Libertad street on board a tricycle to deposit the collection money when the suspects blocked their path.

When they reached the corner of Zamora and Vergel streets at around 2:05 p.m., the suspects on board a motorcycle held them up at gunpoint, mall security chief Maximo Vallente said.

Vallente said the victims were trapped in traffic when the robbers pounced on them.

"
The suspects seemed to have been waiting for them," he said."They seemed prepared. They knew where our cashier was going."— Edu Punay
