Pajero with bullet holes baffles cops

An abandoned Mitsubishi Pajero, with four bullet holes and a damaged windshield, has left the Mandaluyong City police baffled.
Senior Superintendent Ericson Velasquez, Mandaluyong City police chief, said they are trying to find out what exactly happened to the vehicle which they recovered last Thursday at the corner of Haig street and Shaw Boulevard in Barangay Daang Bakal.
A lawyer representing the supposed owner showed up to claim the Pajero, but Velasquez refused to release the vehicle pending investigation whether it was used in a crime.
"We are gathering fingerprints and other evidence which could help us determine why the Pajero had bullet holes and a damaged windshield," Velasquez said in an interview.
Police said a male caller informed them of the presence of an abandoned white 2002 model Mitsubishi Pajero with license plates XDR 948 at about 7:30 a.m. last Thursday.
According to Velasquez, he dispatched crime scene investigators to dust the vehicle for prints and gather evidence like empty shells and slugs.
The probers have yet to submit their findings.
The lawyer could not say what happened to the Pajero and why it was abandoned by the owner.
Velasquez, who is also a lawyer, asked the claimant to make a formal representation for the release of the vehicle. Non Alquitran
