Ex-soldier kills security guard
December 21, 2003 | 12:00am
A former soldier could not bear to be talked down by a security guard Friday night in Caloocan City so he did his best to stop his friend from doing it again by shooting him dead.
Dead on the spot due to a gunshot wound in the body was Darwin Honorica, 40, married, a native of Marinduque, resident of Phase 7-B, Package 1, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
Police are now hot on the trail of suspect Freddie Quidato, ex-Army man and neighbor of the victim, who has gone into hiding after the incident.
PO1 Joselito Labay of Sub-station 3 said the incident happened around 6 p.m. as the victim was walking on his way to the Tala High School.
The suspect allegedly appeared and without a word shot the victim with an unspecified handgun before fleeing the scene. Prior to the incident, good-natured banter between the two apparently degenerated into a vicious exchange of sarcastic remarks. The two allegedly parted at that time with no visible sign that the suspect was planning to do something sinister. Jerry Botial
