Fire hits Tondo residential area

A fire of still unknown origin broke out in a residential area in Tondo, Manila late yesterday afternoon.

Arson probers have yet to determine the cause of the fire, which started at around 5:55 p.m. on San Luis street, Zaragoza, Del Pan in Tondo, Manila.

As of press time, firefighters from different localities were still trying to contain the fire, which reached Task Force Alpha.

Senior Fire Officer 1 Raul Angeles said firemen had difficultycontrolling the blaze as firetrucks could not pass through the narrow streets leading to the burning houses.

"Masikip ang mga daan doon at marami pang mga naka-paradang sasakyan kaya di makalapit yung mga firetrucks," Angeles said. — Cecille Suerte Felipe
