Report-a-crime program launched

-
City residents will get the chance to directly air their complaints and report crimes in their respective communities to the city chief of police through the program "Isumbong Mo Kay Hepe!"

Launched recently, "Isumbong Mo Kay Hepe!" is a project of Las Piñas City Mayor Vergel Aguilar and the Philippine National Police and Civilian Volunteers Organization (PNP-CVO) alliance. It aims to encourage residents to get involved in crime prevention and prove that the police is their ally and partner in society.

With no less than Las Piñas City police chief Senior Superintendent Armando Pineda to personally receive the people’s complaints and reports on any form of criminality existing in their community, "Isumbong Mo Kay Hepe!" is conducted every Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Office Chief of Police in Las Piñas City Police Department located at the back of city hall.

Residents are encouraged to bring to the attention of the city authorities any unreported crime or irregularities. Reportees are assured of quick response to their complaints and any critical information will be treated with strict confidentiality to protect the informant.

Aguilar said the regular dialogue between the residents and their police officials, through the support of the civilian volunteer group, is part of the crime deterrent steps being undertaken by the city.

He believes it is one way of making sure that Las Piñas remains a peaceful city in Metro Manila through a continuing dialogue and sincere response to the residents’ concern.

"Isumbong Mo Kay Hepe!" is a crime prevention program in cooperation with the local CVO through its president Ronaldo Gaon.
