Army captain arrested for urinating in public

Let this be a lesson to those who cannot control their urges. An Army captain, moonlighting as a taxi driver, has found himself in hot waters after he was accused by a lady passenger of allegedly urinating in public and then masturbating in Pasig City last Thursday.

Captain Geronimo Pangilinan, assigned at the Army’s Headquarters Support Group in Fort Bonifacio, is now facing charges of unjust vexation before the Pasig City Police aside from being the subject of a probe now being conducted by the Army’s Provost Marshal.

According to Army spokesman Lt. Col. Joselito Kakilala, Army chief Maj. Gen. Efren Abu ordered the probe be conducted on Pangilinan for violation of Articles of War 98 (conduct unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman) and Articles of War 97 (disorder and neglect to the prejudice of good order and military disicipline) and grave misconduct under the code of ethics of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

It is expected that all military personnel should be circumspect in their actions that even urinating in public is considered an infraction of military discipline, Kakilala said.

Kakilala added that should Pangilinan be found guilty of the charges leveled against him, he would be reverted into inactive status or separation from the service without prejudice to the filing of criminal charges against him in a civil court.

According to the Pasig City police, Pangilinan was driving a passenger Isuzu van when he stopped at about 10:30 a.m. in front of the Immaculate Conception Hospital along the C-5 Road in Barangay Bagong Ilog.

Police said Pangilinan then told his lone passenger Noveriza Gonzales that he would be relieving himself. Pangilinan, police said, then moved to urinate beside his van.

Shortly after, Gonzales said she was surprised to see Pangilinan allegedly masturbating, police said. She then filed a complaint with the police.
