Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. ordered yesterday the release of year-end and Christmas bonuses to more than 5,000 city hall regular employees.
In a memorandum to the city budget officer, accountant and city treasurer, Belmonte ordered to release all available funds for the payment of benefits not earlier than Nov. 15 but not later than Nov. 30.
The year-end bonus is equivalent to 1/2 of the employees basic monthly salary plus P5,000 cash gift. The fist half of incentives were given to government employees last May.
Belmonte said all personnel elected or regular plantilla employees are entitled to receive the benefits.
Under the guidelines, employees can avail of the benefits if they are still be in service as of Oct. 31 and have rendered four months of service from January to October, inclusive of leaves of absences with pay.
Those who are presently on approved leave of absence without pay but have rendered a total of four months of service from January to October this year can also avail of the benefits.
Exempted from the benefits are consultants covered by contract of service, national government employees detailed in the city and those who are on Absent Without Leave (AWOL) status as of Oct. 31 due to termination or separation from service.
