Assistant prosecutor Edwin Valdez set bail of P100,000 each for the temporary liberty of suspects Won Suk Chang, John Taub and Allan Sausa.
Valdez found sufficient evidence to warrant the filing of robbery charges against Won, Taub and Sausa before the Quezon City regional trial court (RTC).
Superintendent Cesar Hawtorne Binag, commander of the Station 10 of the Central Police District (CPD) in Kamuning, filed the charges after two Koreans showed up at his office and appeared to be trying to settle the case between Won and his victim, Tony Lim.
While Lim and Won do not know each, Binag said Won appeared to be an acquaintance of one of Lim’s secretaries.
Lim and his two secretaries positively identified Won and his two companions as the ones who barged Tuesday into the Highest Tech Philippines office located at Unit 609 Lansdale Tower at Mother Ignacia street, hogtied them and emptied the vault of P720,000 cash.
Taub and Sausa were arrested while ransacking the office of additional loot. Taub yielded a caliber .38 revolver while Sausa, who acted as a lookout, was unarmed.
Won escaped with the loot by jumping out of the window.
However, he was arrested the following day in Antipolo City. Recovered from him was P29,000 from the loot.
Binag said they are still trying to locate the remaining cash through the cooperation of Won. "We immediately filed the robbery case against Won and his companions after we overheard his two Korean visitors trying to settle the case," Binag said in an interview.
Won, Taub and Sausa are detained at the Quezon City police detention center. – Non Alquitran
