The grandson of former Ambassador Ernesto Lagdameo died in a vehicular accident early yesterday morning when his vehicle rammed into an acacia tree along McKinley Road in Makati City.
Senior Police Officer 2 Orlando de Leon, case investigator, said that Jose Maria Luis Ernesto Lagdameo, 18, a student and resident of 1 Narra street in South Forbes Park, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Maynila.
De Leon said that at around 2 a.m. yesterday, the victim, who was on board a black Honda Accord, with license plates XJD-616, was cruising along McKinley Road when he lost control of the wheel. The left side of his vehicle rammed into an acacia tree in front of house no. 41.
"He was wearing his seatbelt and the airbag was deployed, but he might have been pinned between the left door and the steering wheel. There were no traces of blood and we are still determining if he was drunk at the time of the accident," De Leon said. Evelyn Macairan
