Accuser swears it was Alvarez

"Sigurado ako si Bong Alvarez yung nakita ko at kahit kailan, di ko yan babawiin."
This was the statement issued by accuser Jorge Alfredo Lopez III amidst speculations that he could have mistaken a certain Bong Aragon for former basketball star Paul Alvarez when he allegedly caught his wife naked in bed with another man last Thursday.
Lopez, 26, a resident of 28 Homonhon street, Barangay Magallanes, Makati City yesterday reiterated his earlier claims that the former cager was the man he saw lying in bed with his wife Sarah Jane Devendorf-Lopez, 23.
Alvarezs camp has been refuting Lopez allegations, insisting that it was Aragon, a former Mr. Philippines, who used Alvarezs silver Honda CRV (XKY-288) to bring Lopezs wife home.
On Monday, Lopez will file adultery charges against his American wife and Alvarez, while additional attempted homicide and grave threat charges would be slapped against the woman.
She allegedly threatened to stab him and eventually hurt his friend Bernard Robles when they entered the house. Alvarez, who had declined to personally answer the queries, has reportedly hired Aquilino Pimentel III to act as his legal counsel in a bid to clear his name.
Lopez said he is not bothered over reports that Alvarez was considering the filing of counter charges against him. "Mag-file sila ng case. Alam nya (Alvarez) nasa tama ako at nandito lahat and evidence ko. Ayaw nga nyang lumabas sa TV."
Pimentel, in earlier interviews, questioned how three men Lopez, Robles and one Ernest Gerard Tagle were unable to fend off a womans attack.
But the nephew of former Manila Mayor Mel Lopez said they were caught by surprise when she opened the door brandishing a knife.
"Di rin ako lumalaban sa babae," he said.
He said he was also concerned about their children who were witnessing the fight. This prompted him to imemdiately leave the house.
He hired the services of Jose Icaonapo to act as his lawyer. He also dropped by the Makati City police Sub-station 3 located in Evangelista, Barangay Bangkal to gather more evidence to strengthen the case.
"May mga bago pang witnesses na lulutang," he said.
