A construction worker was killed the other night after his own brother stabbed him repeatedly during a dispute involving a pail of water in Quezon City.
Hercules Quinlog, 29, was decalared dead on arrival at the East Avenue Medical Center from stab wounds inflicted by his brother, Leonardo, 36.
Police Officer 1 Rommel Merino, officer-on-case, said the incident happened about 10:45 p.m. last Tuesday in the siblings house located at 5-A Sunflower street, Barangay Payatas.
Initial investigation showed that the two engaged in a heated argument over who should fill a pail of water. At the height of the argument, the elder Quinlog took a knife and stabbed his younger brother several times.
But despite the stab wounds, the younger Quinlog managed to fight back and was even able to stab his brother in the thigh.
Responding barangay tanods brought the siblings to the hospital.
This was where lawmen arrested the elder Quinlog, who yielded the bladed weapon he used to kill his brother.
In Makati City, a member of the barangay security force was arrested by police after he stabbed dead his nephew dead and wounded his niece and own brother last Tuesday evening.
Police Officer 2 Dexter Castor, case investigator, said Enrico Eguzquiza, 30, died from three stab wounds in the lungs and heart. The victims sister, Edrose, sustained a gash on right hand, while their uncle Pablo Suello, 47, was wounded on the left side of his body.
The suspect was identified as Josefino Suello, 49, a member of the Bantay Bayan of Barangay Tejeros. All are residents of 4041 Kalayaan Avenue in the said barangay.
Eguzquizas mother Rosalinda, 50, eldest sister of the suspect, told Senior Inspector Florante Jose, officer-in-charge of the Makati police homicide division, that she had been in a verbal argument with Suello over a domestic issue.
She and her family were occupying the upper floor of the house, while the suspect was on the ground floor. She apparently had hired carpenters to renovate a room, to which the suspect objected.
Initial investigation disclosed the argument began at around 5:30 p.m. Egusquiza became worried and decided to mediate when the suspect went to get a fan knife. He shielded his mother and ended up being stabbed three times while his sister Edrose was slightly injured.
Pablo attempted to pacify Suello, but was also stabbed. The three victims were taken to the Makati Medical Center, where Eguzquiza was pronounced dead on arrival.
