Woman kidnaps, sells nephew

-
Criminal charges have been filed before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office against a 45-year old woman for allegedly abducting her nephew and selling him to a woman in Marikina City.

Marciano Bastes Sr. of Carnival Street, Looban, BFRV, Las Piñas City, charged his sister, Nilda Cutamora, and her suspected accomplice, Lucila Manalad, with abduction.

The complainant sought the assistance of broadcast journalist Mike Enqiruez, host of television program "Imbestigador," in locating his missing son, Marciano Jr.

Enriquez advised the complainant to report the kidnapping to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

On Sept. 29, Cutamora allegedly tried to convince Bastes and his wife, Cecilia, to stay in her home in Barangay Batasan Hills in Quezon City. Cutamora took care of the complainant’s son for several hours.

However, Cutamora failed to return the complainant’s son to the couple and said that he was abducted by Manalad.

During interrogation at the DILG led by SPO4 James Nabalot, both Cutamora and Manalad claimed that they sold the child to a certain Mariz Valencia for P10,000 through Josepha Nicolas, a barangay chairman in Cupang, Marikina City.

However, Valencia denied any involvement in the abduction. Pia Lee Brago
