Jollibee branch in Makati robbed

A Jolibee branch in Makati City was robbed by still unidentified men on Saturday evening. Over P200,000 in cash was reportedly taken from the stores steel vault.
Police Officer 2 Raymond Bilgera of the Theft and Robbery Division said the Jollibee outlet located in Magallanes Village, along South Superhighway in Makati City reported the incident yesterday morning.
Initial investigation showed that store manager, Cheryl Pestaño, arrived at the store at around 5:45 a.m. and discovered that the cash amounting to P224,830.10 was missing from the vault. She immediately called the police for assistance.
Bilgera said the suspects allegedly forced themselves inside the establishment and was able to take the money from the steel vault. Police have yet to conduct a thorough probe on the incident.
Meanwhile, a Magoos Pizza outlet, located some 400 meters away from the Jolibee branch, was also robbed at around 2:30 p.m. yesterday.
Two armed men on board a motorcycle reportedly carted away more than P4,000.
Police Officer 1 Noli Jucal of the Theft and Robbery Division, said the two unidentified suspects entered the store and pretended to be customers before declaring a hold up.
They divested the cash register of P4,000 and also took with them the cellular phones and personal belongings of two customers who were inside the store during the incident.
Witnesses said the motorcycle has no plate number. They immediately called the police for assistance but by the time the responding officers arrived, the suspects were gone. Evelyn Macairan
