Old woman killed by 10-wheeler

A 72-year-old woman was killed yesterday when a 10-wheeler oil tanker sideswiped and ran over her while she was crossing the street in Sta. Ana, Manila.
Inspector Felix Usi, of the Western Police District (WPD) Traffic Operations Unit, identified the victim as Teodora Secreto, 70, a native of Iloilo.
Secreto was crossing Tejeron street in Sta. Ana to buy bread at a bakery just across a relatives house when she was hit by the truck (UBS-216).
Witnesses told probers that the victim didnt notice the truck and was crushed after being side-swiped and run over.
The driver, identified as Cesar de Lara, 31, surrendered to police, saying he did not notice the old woman. Edu Punay, Nestor Etolle
