A 31-year-old former patient of the National Center for Mental Health is in police custody after stabbing his mother in Taguig last Friday night.
Senior Police Officer 2 Dennis Rafael, night duty officer, said the 69-year-old Paz Grafil, a resident of 3 Saing street, Western Bicutan, Taguig , is now confined at the Makati Medical Center after sustaining multiple stab wounds.
Police officers collared her son Victor, 31, and would be filing frustrated parricide charges against him. Rafael said the suspect was reportedly released from the NCMH just last month.
Initial investigation disclosed the victim and her son were having an argument inside their house at around 8:45 p.m. when the suspect took out a seven-inch kitchen knife and stabbed his mother several times in different parts of the body.
"The victims sister allegedly heard her cries for help and immediately went looking for barangay officers. The suspect was later caught by responding law enforcers," Rafael said. Evelyn Macairan
