Ermita club loses P.3 M

-
Police are now hunting down a security guard who allegedly ran away with some P280,000 in cash, representing earnings of an entertainment club in Ermita, Manila.

Case investigator SPO3 Celso Tan of the Western Police District’s Theft and Robbery Unit said Lot Cagas, 40, a security guard of the Arkdia Entertainment Venue along Remedios street in Ermita, Manila had been charged with qualified theft following the loss of the club’s earnings.

Michael Infante, the club’s senior manager, pointed to Cagas as their prime suspect in the theft of the club’s earnings after he went missing and failed to report for work when the theft was discovered.

According to Tan, it was Cagas who was left alone in the club after it closed for the day last Sept. 13.

When an employee reported for work in the morning, he found the club locked from the outside and the guard gone. The employee sought Infante who has a duplicate key of the club’s doors.

Infante then learned that the club earnings for two days, Friday and Saturday, totaling P280,000 was missing. He said the amount was supposed to be deposited at a bank last Monday.

Tan suspected it could have been Cagas who took the money after police failed to find him in his given address in Parañaque. Nestor Etolle
