August 21, 2003 | 12:00am
A stay-in housemaid died yesterday after jumping from the second floor of a condominium in Libis, Quezon City.
Katherine Triguero, who works at a unit of the Eastwood Olympic Heights Condominium was declared dead on arrival at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center due to fractured bones in the different parts of the body.
At around 12:20 a.m., a security guard of the condominium heard a thud coming from the garden of the condominium.
PO2 Rommel Merino, officer-on-case, said several security guards went to the area to check and found the almost lifeless victim on her back.
They immediately rushed her to the hospital.
A certain Evon Paredes, a friend of the victim, told investigators that she accompanied the victim to the condo unit just before the latter committed suicide.
Merino said the victim did not confide to her any problems that she may have had, although she noticed that her friend was quite despondent.
The investigator said the victim left a seven-page suicide letter inside the servants quarters.
In her suicide letter, the victim blamed her parents for her fate, criticizing them for failing to send her to school to finish her studies. Katherine Adraneda
