Valenzuela firm loses P.3-M payroll to robbers

Three heavily armed gunmen robbed two employees of a metal fabricating firm of P300,000 in payroll money in broad-daylight the other day in Valenzuela.

A belated report reaching the office of Chief Superintendent Marcelino Franco Jr., Northern Police District Office (NPDO) director, said the three suspects were armed with Uzi and Ingram machine pistols.

Victims Argie Arsenal and Dennis Lumansoc, of Albert Metal Craft, located at A. Pablo street, Barangay Karuhatan, Valenzuela City told probers they had just withdrawn P307,000 at a nearby bank and were on their way back to the office when they were waylaid at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Arsenal said two of the still unidentified suspects blocked their vehicle prompting them to stop.

The two suspects then ordered Arsenal to open the pick-up’s right door and one of the suspects’ grabbed Arsenal’s brown bag, where the cash was kept.

The suspects then ran to a parked motorcycle, a blue Enduro D1 with no license plates, where another suspect was waiting and fled towards Malinta. – Jerry Botial
