Man stabbed dead by drinking buddies

A father pleading for his life was stabbed to death by three of his drinking buddies in front of his horrified teenaged son the other night in Caloocan City, authorities said yesterday.
The victim was identified as Rogelio Jalea, married, a native of Bacolod City and residing at Block 2, Lot 19, Barong street, Maligaya Park in Caloocan City.
Witnesses positively identified the suspects as Danilo Hita, 30, laborer; Danilo Fisinable, 36, and Edgar Quirabu, 31, both drivers and all neighbors of the victim.
Police said the stabbing occurred at around 10 p.m. Friday at the victims house. Witness Daisy Estrada said she just heard the three heatedly arguing after which she saw the suspects whipping out a knife and a jungle bolo and subsequently taking turns in stabbing the victim.
In Tondo, Manila, a father was killed while his son was wounded after a drunken man attacked them before dawn yesterday.
Police identified the victim as Rodrigo Alminar, 58, a vendor, of Building 22, Unit 23, Temporary Housing in Vitas, Tondo, Manila. He died while being taken to the Tondo General Hospital.
Alminars son Michael, 24, was wounded and was taken to the same hospital along with suspect Bernate Patayola, 39, a neighbor of the victims who was also hurt in the incident.
Investigation conducted by SPO2 William Gondranios showed that the incident took place near the victims house at around 2 p.m. when Patayola, who was then drunk, challenged everyone to a fight.
The elder Alminar, who was looking for his son, passed by the area and was attacked by Patayola. The incident was witnessed by the younger Alminar, who tried to attack Patayola but the latter also attacked the former.
When all the three fell on the ground bloodied, witnesses brought them to the nearby hospital. Jerry Botial, Cecille Suerte Felipe and Nestor Etolle
