Reynaldo de Leon, of Dasmariñas, Cavite, is now behind bars after killing Giovani Camu during a scuffle which took place shortly after the latter shot another security guard, Pablito Monesit.
Camu died before reaching the Quezon City General Hospital while Monesit died on the spot from gunshot wounds in various parts of the body.
Initial investigation revealed that the incident happened around 7:20 a.m. at the guard station of Seven Star Textile warehouse located at 7 Ocean Parks Subdivision in Barangay Sauyo.
Monesit and Camu were having an argument when the latter lost his cool, drew his shotgun and pulled the trigger.
At this point, De Leon, who just arrived for his shift, tried to subdue a still enraged Camu. A brawl later ensued, prompting De Leon to shoot Camu with his caliber .38 pistol.
De Leon and Monesit belong to the Global Security and Investigation Agency while Camu was from the Protector Security Agency.
According to Rolly Tan, an employee of the textile firm, Monesit arrived that morning to replace De Leon, who was on the night-shift together with Camu.
Tan told The STAR that the heated argument between Camu and Monesit was caused by Monesits apparent rudeness. Tan said Monesits rudeness could have irked Camu. Katherine Adraneda
