Police arrested the other day a 28-year-old woman and her brother after they stabbed their neighbor dead following a heated argument inside their house in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Victim Bernabe Goce, 35, a market vendor and a resident of 135 Sauyo Road in Novaliches, sustained stab wounds in the body and died while undergoing treatment at the Quezon City General Hospital.
Suspect Mama Ligaya Adriano, of the same address, is now detained at the Central Police District. Her younger brother Jolito, 25, was injured in the incident and is currently confined at the Philippine Orthopedic Hospital.
Policemen said the fight stemmed from the Goces house gate the Adrianos wanted to "take down" because it was allegedly encroaching on their property.
Initial reports showed that the suspects, in a fit of anger, stabbed Goce repeatedly in the chest and abdomen while he was walking in an alley near their home.
Jolito was also hurt in the incident after Goce put up a fight. Responding policemen arrived at the scene and arrested the siblings. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he expired at about 2 a.m.
